Murtaza Shakir is an advertising professional with a 23-year experience in the media industry. He is currently Chief Creative Officer at MullenLowe Rauf but views himself more strategically as an overall Chief Creative Curator and Promoter of Films and Media Arts. He has worked with MULLENLOWE for various networks such as BBDO, SAATCHI, and TBWA. This creative journey has enabled him to witness unique spectacles… from the ‘out of the ordinary’ to the ‘very realistic’.
A passionate omnivore when it comes to creating art for the big screen, Murtaza finds peace in traveling, experiencing, orchestrating, capturing, and storytelling. He believes every idea needs a staunch advocate who can balance a creative walk in the clouds and a tightrope walk in the marketplace. When tackling a challenging idea, the artist and the salesman have quite a showdown in the boardroom.
He’s a dreamer who belongs to the ‘dream wild, live responsibly’ tribe and constantly shifts gears from the abstract realm to the concrete – the idea is to go “responsibly wild.” He believes everything starts and ends with an idea that takes you on a journey of great discoveries. And is always awaiting the next “big breakthrough.”
This vision has resulted in him being a 4-time juror at the Pakistan Effies!
A poet by night, when Murtaza is not creating advertising behind the scenes, he finds time to lend his thespian talents to front-of-camera endeavors…in commercials and TV dramas…and also on-stage!
